This includes over 40 species of Hoverflies. Dragonflies are also found including the Sympetrum Flaveolum (Yellow-winged Darter), a rare species in Britain, along with two others which are usually only found in southern Britain. A number of Spiders are present including the Mecopisthes peussi which is nationally notable and other species only found on coastal sand dunes.

The rare Vernal Mining Bee, thought at one time to be extinct in Lancashire, due to increased coastal developments and disturbance, has now been discovered on the reserve. Other nationally notable Solitary Wasps such as the Podalonia hirsute and the Podalonia affinis have been recorded along with a Red Data Book Stiletto Fly, Dialineura anilis, and the Nationally notable Bee Fly Phthiria pulicaria.

Also recorded are Soldier Flies, Snipe Flies and Robber Flies. Besides these there are Spider-hunting Wasps, Mining Bees, Leaf-cutting and Mason Bees, Solitary Bees, and Bumblebees.

The Myrmica rubra Ant and the Lasius Niger Ant have been seen, as well as various differently spotted Ladybirds and various Grasshoppers.
